CranioSacral Therapy:
CranioSacral Therapy is a light touch modality that releases tension from deep within the body, treating chronic pain and dysfunction, and improving over-all health and well-being. CranioSacral Therapy is unique in that we directly access the Central Nervous System by working with the bones, tissues, and fluids of the CranioSacral System. These include the cranial and facial bones and cranial membranes, vertebrae, sacrum (tailbone), pelvis, and the fluids that protect the brain and spinal cord. Through various holds and subtle manipulations, we encourage deep release to structure and fascia, and support the body to unwind tension patterns on it's own terms and from it's own intelligence. After having freed up tension in Central Nervous System, the body can then direct it's own healing energy more efficiently, leading to dramatic improvements in health and over-all functioning.
CranioSacral Therapy helps with:
Jaw Issues, Migraines and Headaches, Chronic neck and back pain, Dental Issues, Sinus Issues/Allergies, Inner Ear Issues, Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, Scoliosis, Pelvic Disorders, Hormone Imbalance, Stress, Trauma, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, ADD/ADHD, Autism, Central Nervous System Disorders, AutoImmune Disorders, Digestive Issues, Orthopedic Issues, Infant and Childhood Disorders...and on...
Because CranioSacral Therapy is so gentle, it is appropriate and effective for people of all ages, from newborns to elderly. A typical session will take place with client fully clothed, laying comfortably on a massage table. I will use my hands to gently assess areas of restriction in the body and will then employ delicate manual techniques to support release in these areas. Though every experience is highly individual, clients may expect feelings of deep relaxation and may notice sensations of warmth and pulsing in areas being treated.
CranioSacral Therapy for Infants:

Integrative Massage:
In my massage practice, I incorporate several different modalities in order to address individual issues in the most effective way. My work is a purposeful and creative blend of Swedish and Deep Tissue massage, and may also include Acupressure, CranioSacral Therapy, Reflexology, and Lymph Drainage work as deemed appropriate.
Swedish massage is relaxing, relieves tired muscles, and encourages good circulation. Deep Tissue massage incorporates long, penetrating strokes to specific muscle groups, resulting in greatly reduced muscle tension and more balanced postural alignment. It is effective for chronic issues in that it creates more permanent change in the musculoskeletal system. Acupressure is used to support a return to energetic balance in the body by working with acupuncture points and the meridian system to move and balance chi. Acupressure increases energy, decreases stress, and helps with sleep and digestion. Reflexology relieves pain and disfunction throughout the body by working points on the hands and feet that correspond with specific areas of the body. Any organ, bone, or body part can be accessed, treated, and balanced by stimulating these points. Reflexology promotes deep relaxation, with clients enjoying increased energy, less pain and fatigue, and a feeling of well-being. Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle and relaxing modality that specifically promotes the movement and flow of lymph in the body. It is helpful for detoxification and helps to open and support the body's elimination pathways, leading to increased immune functioning and resistance to disease and infection. Your massage will be a unique combination of these modalities, performed with you and your specific needs in mind. Please communicate freely about how you are feeling and what you want, so we can be sure you have the best experience possible.
Pre-natal Massage: This massage is specialized to meet the unique needs of pregnant women. The focus is on removing tension and stress, while avoiding certain acupuncture/pressure points, and propping client with pillows so as to maintain safe and comfortable positioning for mom and baby.
Shiatsu:
Shiatsu is a form of Asian bodywork developed in Japan and based in the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Shiatsu is traditionally performed with the client positioned on a large, comfortable mat on the floor. At this time, I do not have the office space for my mat, and so work only with the table for my Shiatsu sessions. During your session, I will move, stretch, and position your body to receive compressions and gentle stimulation to acupuncture points and meridian lines, promoting the movement and balance of Chi (life energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu balances the body, mind, and spirit, and leaves one feeling relaxed and renewed. The shift is dramatic and clients often feel remarkably better for days to weeks following a session.
Reiki:
Reiki is a form of hands-on healing developed by Mikao Usui, in Japan, in the early 1900's. Literally translated, Reiki means 'spiritual energy', but it also refers to this specific system of teachings in its modern form. Reiki is transmitted through the hands of an attuned practitioner to various positions on a client's body. Reiki can be done on it's own in a one hour session, or added to any massage. I use Reiki frequently in my work and purposefully use it to direct energy in CranioSacral Therapy sessions. Reiki supports the body to shift imbalances and decreases inflammation, setting the stage for deep healing and restoration.
